Pengaruh Pendedahan Pengharum Ruangan Gel dan Spray terhadap Diameter Tubulus Seminiferus dan Konsentrasi Sperma pada Tikus (Rattus norvegicus)

Abstract


Pengharum ruangan mengandung subtansi berbahaya seperti phtalate dan formaldehid yang dapat mengganggu sistem reproduksi. Pthalate dan formaldehid sebagai radikal bebas berpengaruh terhadap ekspresi gen, produksi steroid hormon, gangguan sel Leydig, penurunan fungsi sel Sertoli, dan berkurangmya ekspresi reseptor pada sel-sel sistem reproduksi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium dengan post-test only group design. Subjek penelitian adalah 18 tikus (Rattus norvegicus) yang dibagi menjadi tiga kelompok (gel (G), spray (S) dan kontrol (K)). Perlakuan dilakukan selama 30 hari. Hari ke-31 dilakukan pembedahan untuk pengambilan organ testis dan perhitungan konsentrasi sperma. Organ dibuat preparat dengan pengecatan Hematoxilin Eosin, dilanjutkan dengan pengukuran diameter tubulus seminiferus di bawah mikroskop, lalu data diuji statistik dengan One-Way ANOVA. Hasil uji statistik dengan One-Way ANOVA menunjukkan perbedaan diameter tubulus seminiferus yang bermakna pada setiap kelompok uji (p<0,05) dengan hasil kelompok gel berdiameter paling kecil. Hasil uji One-Way ANOVA konsentrasi sperma tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang bermakna (p>0,05) akan tetapi kelompok gel menunjukkan konsentrasi sperma yang paling kecil. Disimpulkan bahwa pendedahan pengharum ruangan dapat mempengaruhi diameter tubulus seminiferus.

 

Air Freshener contains harmful substances witch can disrupt the reproductive system such as formaldehyde and phthalate. Phthalate and formaldehyde as free radicals influence the gene expression, the production of steroid hormones, disturb Leydig cell, degeneration of Sertoli cell fuctions, and the expression of receptors on cells of the reproductive system is reduced. The aims of this study is to determined the effects of air freshener gels and spay exposure to the seminiferous tubules diameter and the concentration of sperm in rat. This research   is pure experimental laboratory approach with post-test only group design. Objects of this study were 18 white rats and it was divided into three groups (gel group (G), spray (S) and control (K)). The treatment carried out for 30 days with controled feed and condition of experimentals animals. We conduct surgery to got the diameter of the seminiferous tubules and sperm concentration in 31th day, and the data were formulate statistically by One-Way ANOVA. Statistical tests resulted significant comparison of seminiferous tubules diameter on each test group (p <0.05). In the statistical test of sperm concentration it hadn’t showed differences significanly (p> 0.05). It can be concluded that exposure to fragrances can affect indoor diameter of the seminiferous tubules.
