Pengaruh Ekstrak Buah Merah (Pandanus conoideus L.) terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah

Abstract


Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic hyperglycemia marked by various disparities of metabolism as the result of hormonal disparity which generates various chronic complications at eyes, nerves and blood vessels. DM complication causes disorder even physical defect to the patient. Therefore, DM therapy is now directed more toward to the complication prevention. Traditionally, red fruit (Pandanus conoideus L.) is used to cure various diseases, including DM. The aim of this research is to prove the hypoglicemic effect of red fruit extract. This is an experimental laboratory research in animal test. Subject were 11 rats of Spraque Dawley strain, 4 months age, male, 310-370 gram body weight. The subjects was divided into 4 groups i.e. negative control was given aquades, positive control group was given alloxan, first treatment group was given red fruit extracts 30ml and second treatment group was given alloxan and red fruit extract of dose 45 ml. The treatment was given for 24 days and at 25th day retrieval of blood through vein retroorbitalis was done. The laboratory examination was carried out by using KIT Glucose DYASIS reagent. The data was analyzed by oneway Anova and t test. The result shows that the blood glucose level on group fUJII and IV are 75,41±1,73; 183,64±2,11 mg/dl; 73,76±1,84; and 121,1±3,05 mg/dl. Oneway Anova shows a significant difference of blood glucose level among the groups (p=0,000). The t test shows a significant difference of blood glucose level between group 4 (p<0, 05) and other grous. The level of blood glucose on group IV was lowest than other groups. There was a hypoglycemic effect on Pandanus conoideus.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) adalah hiperglikemia kronis yang ditandai oleh berbagai kelaianan metabolisme sebagai akibat kelainan hormon yang menghasilkan berbagai komplikasi kronik pada mata, saraf dan pembuluh darah. Komplikasi DM menyebabkan gangguan bahkan cacat fisik kepada pasien. Oleh karena itu, terapi DM sekarang lebih diarahkan pada pencegahan komplikasi. Secara tradisional, buah merah (Pandanus conoideus L.) digunakan untuk menyembuhkan berbagai penyakit, termasuk DM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan efek hipoglikemik buah merah. Desain penelitian adalah eksperimental in vivo pada hewan uji. Subjek penelitian 11 ekor tikus galur Sprague Dawley, usia 4 bulan, jantan, berat badan 310-370 gram. Subyek dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif diberi akuades, kelompok kontrol positif diberi Alloxan, kelompok perlakuan I diberi ekstrak buah merah 30ml, kelompok perlakuan II diberi Alloxan dan ekstrak buah merah dosis 45 ml. Perlakuan diberikan selama 24 hari, selanjutnya pada hari ke 25 dilakukan pengambilan darah melalui vena retroorbitalis. Pemeriksaan Glukosa dilakukan dengan menggunakan reagen KIT DYASIS. Data dianalisis dengan oneway Anova dilanjutkan dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata kadar glukosa darah kelompok I,n,IIl dan IV adalah (75,41 ± 1,73) mg/dl; (183,64 ± 2,11) mg/dl; (73,76 ± 1,84) mg/dl; dan (121,1 ± 3,05) mg/ dl. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan kadar glukosa darah antar kelompok (p = 0.000). Uji t menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan kadar glukosa darah kelompok IV (p <0, 05) dengan kelompok - kelompok yang lain.Pada kelompok IV merupakan rerata kadar terendah glukosa darah. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa buah merah memiliki efek hipoglikemik.
