Work on the Embung project, in the capital of the archipelago (IKN) is dominated by the use of heavy equipment. Excavation and stockpiling work uses a lot of heavy equipment, such as excavators, dump trucks, vibro rollers and bulldozers. The selection of heavy equipment will affect the smooth running of a construction project. The purpose of this study is to find out the productivity of heavy equipment duration, cost and combination of heavy equipment needed. This study uses qualitative research methods. The data used is the type of heavy equipment, the volume of excavation work, the specifications of heavy equipment and shop drawings. Based on calculations, it was found that with a work duration of 8 hours/day and using heavy equipment 2 units of excavators, 3 units of dump trucks, 1 unit of bulldozer and 1 unit of vibro rollers resulting in the productivity of excavator heavy equipment of 677.28 m3/day, dump trucks of 271.636 m3/day, bulldozers of 281.606 m3/day, vibro rollers of 639 m3/day. The productivity of the tool in the field is low due to the lack of heavy equipment used. The combination of heavy equipment needed in the field is 5 units of excavators, 19 units of dump trucks, 7 units of bulldozers, 3 units of vibro rollers. The total duration of work based on the analysis is 29 days which is very different from what is done in the field, which is 49 days. From the results of the analysis, it was found that the work could be 20 days faster if heavy equipment was added.
