Entrepreneurial passion is an important factor that drives business success through the emotional strength that urges individuals to do whatever it takes to achieve their business goals, especially the food and manufacturing MSMEs in Surakarta. The objective of this research is precisely to identify entrepreneurial passion and its impact on business performance through the role of government support (GS) and financial resource availability (FRA). Based on the entrepreneurial identity approach of 180 MSMEs in the small manufacturing and food business sectors in the Surakarta Region, passion as a founder, inventor, or business developer on the impact of their business performance results was identified. The results revealed that EP and GS significantly affected MSME performance. The FRA did not significantly affect the MSME performance. In this case, GS partially mediates the influence of EP on performance, while FRA could not mediate the influence of EP on performance. This research implies that government support has an essential role in fostering an entrepreneurial passion in the context of small businesses that are still in the growth stage. In addition, MSME players need to know their character according to their passions to produce superior performance; this aligns with the personality-job fit theory
Liana Mangifera Muzakar Isa Ali Zainal Abidin Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-28 2025-04-28 16 1 1 15 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.22329 Impact of Internet Marketing Capabilities, Orientations, Uncertainty, and Innovation on International Performance https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/24990
SMEs play a critical role in driving economic development through international expansion in the globalization era. However, understanding which strategic capabilities truly enhance their global performance remains a challenge. This paper examines different factors that influence international performance, with a focus on innovation as a mediating factor. This research utilized a quantitative method and a purposive sampling approach. The data were analyzed by using SPSS and Smart PLS 3.0. The sample was 204 international SMEs from Indonesia. The result found that internet marketing capabilities, learning orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and market orientation influence the international performance of SMEs. Nevertheless, uncertainty and innovation do not significantly affect the international performance of SMEs, nor does innovation mediate the relationship between market orientation and international performance. The international environment typically requires firms to understand customers' needs and perceive themselves as capable of understanding their competitors. Also, sharing insight with suppliers and other stakeholders helps companies recognize valuable partnerships and enhance their international performance. This study contributes to the understanding of how strategic orientations and internet marketing capabilities drive international SME performance. It challenges the assumption that innovation and uncertainty significantly impact global market success, highlighting instead that SMEs benefit more from market orientation, learning orientation, and digital marketing capabilities in achieving international growth.
Fendy Cuandra Viviana Angesty Edy Yulianto Putra Lady Lady Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 16 33 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.24990 When Phones Take Over: How Self-Management Bridges the Gap to Communication https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/25413
In the contemporary digital era, the pervasive use of smartphones, particularly among Generation Z, has become a prevalent phenomenon across various settings, including professional environments. One of the deleterious effects of this phenomenon is what has been termed "phone snubbing behavior" (PSB), which is defined as the tendency to ignore in-person social interactions due to excessive focus on mobile devices. The objective of this research is to validate the mediating function of self-management or self-control on the relationship PSB, which is defined as the excessive use of smartphones during social interactions that ultimately impedes communication among Generation Z employees in the West Sulawesi government among the selected population. It is therefore recommended that they enhance their self-control to mitigate the impact of PSB and promote effective communication in the work environment. The study employed a purposive sampling technique, selecting a sample of 228 respondents from a total population of 7.112. The data analysis was conducted using SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). The study's findings indicate that PSB exerts a negative influence on social interaction; PSB has a negative impact on self-control; Self-control has a positive effect on social interaction; Self-control directly mediates the influence of PSB on social interaction. This research makes a significant contribution by delving deeper into the behavioral influences of PSBs in a governmental context and suggesting a practical approach through enhancing self-control to reduce technology-induced disruptions to interpersonal communication. This issue is increasingly relevant in today's digital age.
Nur Wahyunianti Dahri Heru Kurnianto Tjahjono Mohsin Shaikh Muhammad Aqil Mashitah Syam Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 34 54 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.25413 Do Organization Engagement and Commitment have a role in Turnover Intention? https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/25978
In a company, human resources are the most noteworthy resource; hence, companies must prioritize different human asset administration exercises and exercises that fit. The goal of this study is to determine how human resource practices—which include career management, compensation satisfaction, performance evaluation, individual job fit, and work control—affect turnover when organizational commitment and engagement are used as interventions. With 330 employees from Syariah Hotels in Purwokerto as the whole population or test used, this consideration fits into the causal-comparative inquiry kind. The SPLS software application is used for the information analysis. Six of the twelve hypotheses that were put up were accepted, according to the results of the consideration; organizational commitment was impacted by the variable of individual job fit and execution evaluation. Organizational engagement is impacted by career administration and execution evaluation. Additionally, organizational engagement and commitment characteristics may affect turnover.
Dwita Darmawati Rio dhani Laksana Intan Shaferi Ilkay Aydogmus Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 press press 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.25978 Sustainable Hotel Finance: Green Leadership and Governance Integration https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/26023
Environmental and sustainability issues are increasingly pressing in today's global business context. The rapidly growing hospitality industry in Indonesia faces major challenges in integrating green leadership principles into their financial management to achieve sustainable business. This research seeks to empirically examine and demonstrate the incorporation of green leadership principles that positively influence the financial management of hospitality enterprises in Indonesia. It provides an analysis of the research subject, namely key players in the hospitality sector, highlighting the actual challenges they face in meeting sustainable business demands. A quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through surveys and interviews with essential stakeholders in the hospitality industry. The findings reveal that implementing green leadership principles affects the financial management of sustainable businesses within Indonesia's hospitality sector. However, robust governance is crucial in reinforcing the connection between green leadership principles and sustainable financial management. Therefore, effective governance should be a primary focus in efforts to integrate green leadership principles into the hospitality business. This study provides valuable insights into how the hospitality industry in Indonesia can achieve sustainable business by adopting green leadership principles, with the important role of governance in this process. The practical implication of these findings is that hospitality companies must actively develop green leadership and ensure effective governance to achieve sustainable business success in the face of increasingly pressing environmental challenges.

Julia Safitri Zulkifli Sulthan Syarief Gerald Prasetya Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 Press Press 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.26023 From Social Media to Checkout: The Fomo Phenomenon in Indonesia's Beauty Sector https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/26000
The skincare market in Indonesia is experiencing rapid growth, driven by the increasing young population. This research aims to examine the impact of brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing on consumer purchasing decisions, with Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) acting as a mediating factor. A quantitative approach is employed, utilizing a non-probability sampling method, specifically incidental sampling. The sample consists of 220 consumers in Indonesia who have purchased and used Skintific skincare products. Data was collected through an online questionnaire. The analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis with SPSS and inferential analysis through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results indicate that brand image and viral marketing do not have significant effect on purchasing decisions, but influencer marketing has a positive and significant effect. In contrast, FOMO has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Additionally, brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing have a positive and significant influence on FOMO. FOMO serves as a mediating variable that strengthens the impact of brand image, viral marketing, and influencer marketing on purchasing decisions. These findings suggest that, in marketing strategies, fostering FOMO through various campaigns can be a more effective approach to driving consumer purchasing decisions.
Ida Ayu Santhi Adnyani Dewi Ida Ayu Oka Martini Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 Press Press 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.26000 Improving employee performance through green human resource management practices https://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/bti/article/view/26205
This study explores the effect of green human resource management (HRM) practices on employee performance, specifically within the state banking sector. It also examines three factors—transformational leadership, employee affective commitment, and readiness to change capability—that may influence this relationship. The research used purposive sampling to select participants and collected data through questionnaires distributed both online via Google Forms and in person. To boost the response rate, follow-up reminders and calls were made three months after the initial distribution. Out of 500 distributed questionnaires, 390 were returned, with 360 considered valid for analysis. A quantitative approach was applied, using structural equation modeling to test the hypotheses, and multivariate analysis was performed to verify the data and assess the relationships. The results indicate that green HRM practices have a positive effect on employee performance, with employee affective commitment, transformational leadership, and readiness to change capability serving as mediating factors. Transformational leadership was also found to improve employee performance by influencing readiness to change capability.
Intan Ratna Wati Aulia Vidya Almadana Copyright (c) 2025 JBTI : Jurnal Bisnis : Teori dan Implementasi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 2025-04-30 2025-04-30 16 1 Press Press 10.18196/jbti.v16i1.26205
