Peranan Orang Tua dalam Pendidikan Seks

The need of the appropriate comprehension of the human sex essentials for adolescents is urgently required. The facts show that adolescents fre¬quently do not know where to go in finding the right information about sexu¬ality; hence they seek information to resources who do not certainly provide the right information. This could mislead them to go on the wrong path. In fact, the information about the right sexual issues can be provided through sex education. The understanding that sex education is only a mere knowledge of sexual intercourse will result the rejection of many people to provide sex education for the adolescents. The stigma in the society that sex education is a taboo should be eliminated, hence the adolescents could obtain the right informa¬tion. An open-minded point of view that sex issues can be politely and well discussed has to be arised, hence not causing rejections from many people. The best sex education is the one provided by the parents as the closest people, in relaxing condition, with heart-to-heart approach. Therefore, it re-quires appropriate comprehension of the parents on those issues.
Kebutuhan akan pemahaman yang benar tentang hakekat seksualitas manusia bagi remaja kian mendesak untuk dipenuhi. Kenyataan menunjukkan bahwa remaja sering tidak tahu ke mana mereka bisa mendapatkan informasi yang benar tentang seksualitas, sehingga mereka mencari informasi pada pihak-pihak yang belum tentu memberikan pengertian secara benar. Hal ini justru bisa menyesatkan para remaja. Sebenarnya, informasi tentang masalah seks yang benar dapat diberikan melalui pendidikan seks. Pemahaman bahwa pendidikan seks hanyalah pengetahuan tentang hubungan seks semata-mata menyebabkan banyak pihak menolak untuk memberikan pendidikan seks kepada remaja. Stigma yang ada di masyarakat bahwa pendidikan seks adalah sesuatu yang tabu harus dihapus, sehingga remaja bisa mendapatkan informasi yang benar. Perlu dibuka sebuah wacana bahwa masalah seks bisa didiskusikan secara sopan dan baik, sehingga tidak menimbulkan penolakan dari berbagai pihak. Pendidikan seks yang terbaik adalah yang diberikan oleh orang tua sebagai orang terdekat, dalam suasana santai dengan pendekatan dari hati ke hati, sehingga dibutuhkan pemahaman yang benar dari orang tua tentang masalah tersebut.
