Pengaruh Frekuensi Penyuluhan di UKGS pada Anak SD terhadap Derajat Pengetahuan Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut

One of the dental health service program in school is promotion of dental health by counseling, which can increase the knowledge of oro-dental health. The elementary school students need a continuing counseling about the importance of oro-dental health because they are in the critical condition of the dental development. The purpose of this study was to know whether there was an influence of the counseling frequency in the school dental service on elementary school students to increase the dental health knowledge. The subject of this study was 38 students of 3rd grade (class A and B) and 4th grade (class A andB) of Inti Sonosewu IIElementary School. As a control, the students were given a pre-test before counseling. The counseling was given once to group A and three times to group B in a month. The post-test was given three days after the counseling. Statistical analysis by paired t-test showed that there was a significant difference (p<0.05) of knowledge between before and after counseling. Mann Whitney test showed that there was no significant difference (p>0.05) of knowledge between group A (once counseling in a month) and B (three times counseling a month).
Salah satu program Usaha Kesehatan Gigi Sekolah (UKGS) yaitu promosi kesehatan gigi dan mulut melalui kegiatan penyuluhan yang dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Pada anak sekolah dasar perlu usaha penyuluhan secara terus menerus tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan gigi dan mulut, karena pada saat itu pertumbuhan gigi geliginya mengalami kondisi yang kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh frekuensi penyuluhan di UKGS pada anak SD terhadap peningkatan derajat pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi experimental, dengan subyek penelitian siswa SD kelas IIIA, IIIB, IVA dan IVB SD Inti Sonosewu II sebanyak 38 anak. Sebelum penyuluhan siswa diberi pretest sebagai kontrol kemudian diberikan penyuluhan 1 kali dalam sebulan untuk kelompok A dan 3 kali untuk kelompok B. Tiga hari setelah penyuluhan siswa diberi postest. Data dianalisa dengan menggunakan uji statistik paired t-test dan Mann Whitney. Uji statistik dengan paired t-test menunjukkan hasil adanya perbedaan signifikan (p<0,05) pada pengetahuan antara sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan.UjiMann Whitney menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p>0,05) antara penyuluhan 1 kali dalam sebulan dengan 3 kali dalam sebulan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan kesehatan gigi dan mulut pada anak SD.
