Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

AGRARIS is scientific periodical publication on agribusiness and rural development issue as a media for information dissemination of research result for lecturer, researcher and practitioner. The journal only encompasses research and scientific analysis articles in the field of agribusiness including (not limited to): agricultural economics, marketing management, consumer behavior, community empowerment, agricultural communication, human resources, economics of halal food, sharia finance, agricultural policy, and international trade. 

The article which sent to the AGRARIS should be original work, i.e. the same article must have not been published or accepted for publication in any other journals/ books either in full or substantial part; and must not be submitted to any other journal forconcurrent publication or being considered for publication or even being reviewed. Articles submitted to the AGRARIS could be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

1. General Author Guidelines

All manuscripts can be submitted to AGRARIS Editorial Office by Online Submission (link at the top of this page), where author register as Author.  

2. Manuscript Template

Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines in the MS Word manuscript template. The manuscript template can be downloaded at the following link: AGRARIS MANUSCRIPT TEMPLATE.

3. Reviewing of Manuscript

Manuscripts submitted to AGRARIS will be reviewed by the Editorial Board and/or independent judges from local universities. The manuscript will be evaluated based on compliance with the focus and scope of the AGRARIS, the contribution of disciplines, stability analysis, clarity of presentation and technical adequacy. Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. If two or more reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the authors within three months of the submission date.

4. Revision of Manuscript

Manuscripts sent back to the authors for revision should be returned to the editor without delay. Revised manuscripts can be sent to editorial office through the Online Submission Interface. The revised manuscripts returned later than one half months will be considered as new submissions.

5. Guideline for Online Submission

Author should first register as Author through the following address: http://journal.umy.ac.id/index.php/ag/user/register

The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textbox was filled, Author clicks on “Register” button to proceed the registration. Therefore, Author is brought to online author submission interface where Author should click on “New Submission”. In the Start a New Submission section, click on “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are five steps in online submission process:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: the author must check-mark on the submission checklists. In "Comments for Editor", An author can type the basic findings of the paper and their significance to Editor. Then, click on "save and continue".
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. 
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: In this step, detail authors metadata should be entered including marked corresponding author. After that, manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Author can ignore this step.
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Author should final check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to AGRARIS journal, click Finish Submission button after the documents are true. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the submission’s progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site. 

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes a status of manuscript review and editorial process.

6. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

STRUCTURE OF THE MANUSCRIPT

  1. Title. The title should be clear and informative, but doesn’t exceed 15 words.
  2. Author’s name and institution origin. Author’s name should be accompanied by author’s institution origin and email address, without academic degree.
  3. Abstract contains a brief description about the background of study (maximum 2 sentences), the aims, methods, results and implication. Abstract written in English version, one paragraph with single space (maximum 200 words), without any references or formulas. Abstract contains keywords that reflects the content of the article. Keywords consists of 3-5 words or phrase.
  4. Introduction. This section explains: (i) the general background of the study (concise), (ii) a review on the results of previous researches that relevant and up-to-date, (iii) novelty statements (gap analysis) that contains the urgency and novelty of the study, and (iv) then aims of the study. If there is a hypothesis, declared explicitly and not in interrogative sentence. Introduction should be written without numbers and /or pointers.
  5. Methods of the study. This section contains of the plan of the study with covers: population/sample of the study, data and techniques/instrument of data collections, analysis tools and the models used. Commonly methods no needs to written in detail, but simply refer to reference book (Example: test formula F, test t). Symbol description on models written in sentence.
  6. Result and Discussion. This section contains the results of data analysis (in tables or images, not in a raw data, and not a printscreen of analysis result), the connection between the result of research and basic concepts, and/or hypothesis (if there are), and conformity or contradiction with the results of previous researches. This section can contains implication from the research both theoretically and appropriately. Every images and tables should be referred in text.
  7. Conclusion. Conclusion written briefly, only answer the aims or hypothesis of the research, doesn’t repeat the discussion. Conclusion written critically, logically and honestly based on facts, and full of cautions if there is a generalization. This section written in paragraph, doesn’t use numbering or bullets.
  8. Thanks remark (if needed). This section provided for the author to deliver their thanks remark to the research funder, facilities, or the suggestion; and for the statements if the article is part of thesis/dissertation.
  9. Bibliography. This section written journal list, books, or the other publications that referred in published manuscript in the last 10 years (80%). Minimum amount of the bibliography is 10 sources.

MANUSCRIPT WRITING FORMAT

  1. Manuscript written on quarto-size paper, one column, and space format 1,5, a new paragraph started 6 character from the left side, use Times New Roman font 12.
  2. Manuscript written in standard Indonesian language according to enhanced spelling or in English language.
  3. Number of pages between 15-20 with top and left margin 3 cm, while right and bottom margin is 2,5 cm.
  4. Title written with capital letters in every initial word (except for the first word) font size 14, centered text positions. Subtitles written with capital letters font size 12. If there are sub-subtitle, written with capital letters only in every initial words except for conjunctions. If there are sub from sub-subtitle, written with capital letters only in every initial words except conjunctions, all in italic. Subtitle, sub-subtitle and sub from sub-subtitle written from the left edge.
  5. References or citations written with American Psychological Association 6th Edition. This is the example of citations that according to example of the bibliography below: (Susanawati, Jamhari, Masyhuri, & Dwidjono, 2015); (Banyuriatiga, Widodo, & Sriyadi, 2015); (BPS, 2014); (Syaukat, 2011).
  6. Images or Tables made as close as possible with the review or discussion and numbered sequentially in accordance with the references in the manuscript. If necessary, include the data sources used. Note: images should be clear and fix (not broken)
  7. Table consists of table title and content. Table line only on the top and bottom line, along the separator between the title and table content.
  8. AGRARIS bibliography writing is following the American Psychological Association 6th Edition. Bibliography writing (and citations) are recommended to use Mendeley application. (Mendeley Tutorial: http://bit.ly/2vYEQGZ).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
