Profesionalisme dan professional behavior (PB) merupakan hal penting yang perlu dimiliki oleh seorang dokter dan tercermin dalam praktik sehari-hari ketika berinteraksi dengan pasien dan masyarakat. Hal ini sebagai bentuk pertanggungjawaban profesi dalam rangka untuk mendapatkan kepercayaan dari masyarakat atau kontrak sosial. Studi ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui profesionalisme dan professional behavior (PB) mahasiswa tahap sarjana, profesi dan pre internship menurut persepsi dosen program studi pendidikan dokter FKIK UMY. Kuesioner tertutup dengan 4 skala Lickert yang berisi 15 atribut atau nilai profesionalisme dan PB, dibagikan kepada responden dosen tetap (35), dosen pembimbing klinik bagian 4 besar (42) dan dokter pembimbing atau supervisor (16) mahasiswa magang. Para responden (anonim) diminta mengisi performance PB mahasiswa tahap sarjana, profesi dan mahasiswa magang. Hasil studi menunjukkan nilai atau atribut PB yang masih perlu diperbaiki pada mahasiswa FKIK UMY tahap sarjana adalah kejujuran terutama dalam ujian, care terhadap orang lain maupun fasilitas belajar dan berbusana muslim dan muslimah yang baik (appearance); tahap profesi adalah disiplin waktu, kompetensi knowledge dan skills, serta tanggung jawab; tahap pre internship adalah disiplin waktu, appearance. Disarankan, untuk keberhasilan pembelajaran PB perlu adanya role model yang baik, sistem penilaian yang terus menerus dan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Perlunya dilakukan faculty development untuk mengoptimalkan peran dosen sebagai role model yang baik.
