Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan isi Kitāb Qawā’idī karya Syekh Bahr Al-Munir Al-Hamim Trenggalek dengan standar buku teks yang baik menurut tujuan, kualitas, kaidah penulisan dan bagian-bagiannya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui metode observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan identifikasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitiannya yaitu buku ini sesuai dengan standar buku teks yang baik sesuai dengan tujuan, kualitas, kaidah penulisan dan bagian-bagiannya, yaitu memiliki sudut pandang dan konsep yang jelas, sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013 dan kurikulum terpadu, mempunyai media pendidikan yang baik, mempunyai kesesuaian dengan standar keterkaitan dengan materi lain, menarik minat siswa, dan memiliki nilai-nilai kebaikan yang membentuk akhlak yang baik bagi siswa, yaitu pengembangan aktivitas siswa dalam menganalisis semua komponen, pengembangan aktivitas siswa dalam berbicara, yaitu dengan bernyanyi, pengembangan siswa dalam berpikir, dan pengembangan aktivitas siswa dalam berbicara, serta pengembangan toleransi siswa. Namun, berdasarkan pedoman penulisan buku teks yang baik, kitab ini tidak sesuai dengan etos kerja praktek serta tidak memiliki daftar gambar, daftar tabel, dan halaman penutup di dalamnya.
