Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan metodologi pembelajaran. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumen, dan catatan lapangan. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini ada enam. Pertama, bahasa Arab yang bukan merupakan bahasa nasional di Indonesia menjadi sangat sulit dipelajari di Indonesia pada umumnya. Kedua, metode pembelajaran bahasa Arab yang dikembangkan selama ini belum mampu mengedepankan bahasa Arab seperti biasanya. Ketiga, perlunya model pendidikan yang menekankan pada keakraban dengan bahasa Arab. Keempat, metode langsung adalah metode yang mendorong pembiasaan dalam bahasa Arab. Kelima, Pondok Pesantren Syekh Bin Baz menerapkan metode pembelajaran bahasa Arab secara langsung dengan baik. Keenam, belum ada penelitian serupa yang mengkaji penerapan metode langsung pembelajaran bahasa Arab di Pondok Pesantren Syekh Bin Baz Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode langsung di Pondok Pesantren Syekh Bin Baz Yogyakarta dilaksanakan dengan empat cara. Pertama, belajar bahasa Arab dengan para pakar dari Yaman. Kedua, guru menggunakan bahasa Arab dalam kesehariannya. Ketiga, penggunaan bahasa Arab dalam semua kegiatan resmi Pondok Pesantren Syekh Bin Baz Yogyakarta. Keempat, penggunaan bahasa Arab sebagai alat komunikasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari di Pondok Pesantren Syekh Bin Baz Yogyakarta.References
