PLANTA TROPIKA is an open access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of novel research in all aspects of applied agricultural sciences, with the focus emphasized on the exploration and the development of tropical plant biodiversity. The journal aims to publish the original papers. Original research articles are written in English and it features well-designed studies with clearly analyzed writing and logically interpreted results are accepted, with a strong preference given to research that has the potential to make significant contributions to both the field of Agrotechnology and society in general. The journal focuses related to various topics in the field: Agro-Biotechnology, Plant Breeding, Agriculture Waste Management, Plant Protection, Soil Science, Post Harvest Science and Technology, Plant Production, Architecture Landscape
GENERAL GUIDING PRINCIPLE
An acceptable manuscript will meet the following general criteria: it reports a worthwhile contribution to science, sound methodology was used and is explained with sufficient detail so that other capable scientists could repeat the experiments. Conclusions are supported by data, manuscripts are concise, well written, and understandable.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENT
- Original Manuscript which has been prepared based on the template and guidelines.
- Author Statement, submitted as supplementary files
- Reviewer recommendation list, submitted as supplementary files
MANUSCRIPT FORMAT
Manuscript should be uploaded to Planta Tropika journal system and arranged in Planta Tropika standard format, Title, Authors, Address and Email, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Result and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment and References. Typed at one side of white paper of A4 size, in single column, 1.15 space line, and should be given line number. Margins on all four sides are 2 cm. Planta Tropika provides a template for preparing the manuscript.
MANUSCRIPT TITLE
The title of the paper should be concise and informative. Avoid abbreviations and formulas where possible. It should be written clearly and concisely describing the contents of the research, preferably not more than 20 words.
AUTHORS
Manuscript has main author and co authors with full name of the author and co-authors (no abbreviation), includes the affiliation(s) of the Author (s), i.e. institution, (department), city, (state), country and a clear indication and an active e-mail address of the corresponding Author
ABSTRACT
Abstract must be integrated and independent, consisting of introduction and purpose, methods, results, conclusion and suggestion. However, the abstract should be written in a single paragraph without these headers. For this reason, References should be avoided. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, they must be defined at the first mention in the abstract itself. Abstract must be written using 150 to 200 words without reference and accompanying keywords.
KEYWORDS
The keywords should avoid general and plural terms and multiple concepts. These keywords will be used for indexing purposes. Keywords should not be more than 5 words or phrases in alphabetical order.
INTRODUCTION
State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, state the originality and novelty of the research, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results. Explain how you addressed the problem and clearly state the aims of your study. As you compose the introduction, think of readers who are not experts in this field. The introduction must be written using 750 to 1000 words.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The first part should mention the time and place of research. All materials and methods that used such chemicals for analysis, treatment and experimental design must be stated clearly and briefly. The background of the article is already dealt with in the introduction and lays the foundation for further work. The calculation section represents a practical development from a theoretical basis. Materials and methods must be written using 400 as 600 words.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Result and discussion must be written in the same part. They should be presented continuously, from the main result to the supporting results, and equipped with a discussion. The unit of measurement used should follow the prevailing international system. All figures and tables placed separately at the end of manuscript pages should be active and editable by the editor (see template).
CONCLUSION
Conclusion should be explained clearly. The suggestion placed after the conclusion contains a recommendation on the research done or an input that consumers can use directly. Conclusion and suggestion must be written using 40 to 80 words.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
State the grant source and the person to whom the grant was given. Name the person to help you work.
REFERENCES
The author-year notation system is required and completed. All references mentioned should be written down in reference using the American Psychological Association (APA) style and arranged from A to Z. Articles must have at least 25 or more recent references and 80 % must be primary sources. Most of the references are primary ones (last ten years). Unpublished data and personal communication should not be cited as literature citations. "In Press" articles accepted for publication may be cited in references. Include in the citation the journal in which the "in press" article will appear and the publication date if a date is available. Authors are suggested to use reference tools, such as Mendeley, Zotero and Endnote.

NUMERALS
Arabic numerals should be used in all cases except the beginning of sentences or when the use would be unclear.
UNITS
The International System of Units (SI) must be adopted for all numerical data.
ABBREVIATIONS
Full stop should not be included in abbreviations, e.g ppm (not p.p.m.). Abbreviations can be used, but define them at first usage, Carboxymethyil Cellulose (CMC), except it commonly uses, for example kg for kilogram, L for liter, etc.
PLANT NAMES
Use italics (indicated by underlining) for scientific names of plants and animals. Cultivar names are always enclosed in single quotes unless they are preceded by the abbreviation "cv." in formal designation (e.g., Ananas Comosus cv. Pattavia) or the word "cultivar", or they appear on the body of the tables, or within figures. Cultivar names are always capitalized.
TABLES
Tables should be attached to the manuscript and placed after the references section. They should be constructed to be intelligible without reference to the text. Every table should have an explanatory caption that follows the table number (e.g. Table 1. Effect of CMC on Physical properties of 'Pattavia' pineapple). Within the table, each column should carry an appropriate heading, and only the first letter should be capitalized (e.g., Internode length). Units of measure should always be clearly indicated. Footnotes (indicated by superscripted letters z, w, y) may follow the tables when necessary. Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
FIGURES
Figures should be attached to the manuscript and placed after the references section. When several figures are to be published as one figure, they should be assembled in the desired arrangement and each should be lettered (A, B, C). Bar scales on photographs are preferable to stated magnifications. Figures should be numbered in the sequence in which they are cited in the text. Figures legend should give sufficient information to make the illustration comprehensible without referencing the text (self-explanatory). They must be clear and concise. Figure legends should be grouped together on a separate sheet and inserted in the manuscript after the "References" section.
LANGUAGE
Manuscript should be written in English. Either American or British is accepted, neither American nor English can be used, but not a mixture of the two. In the final editing, manuscript will be proofread by English editor to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to correct scientific English.
