Gambaran Pengetahuan dan Kecemasan Mahasiswa Profesi Kedokteran Gigi terhadap Human Immunodefficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodefficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) di RSGM UMY The Knowledge Description and Hesitation of Dental Clerkship Student about Human Immunod

Latar Belakang: Prosedur perawatan gigi dan mulut seringkali melibatkan darah dan saliva yang kemungkinanmengandung banyak mikroorganisme patogen, seperti HIV. Dokter gigi memiliki tanggung jawab etik dan
profesional untuk memberikan perawatan kepada semua pasien, termasuk pasien dengan HIV AIDS.
Pengetahuan tentang HIV/AIDS merupakan bekal seorang dokter gigi untuk dapat melakukan perawatan yang
baik kepada pasien dengan HIV/AIDS. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan mahasiswa
kedokteran gigi tentang HIV/AIDS dan kecemasan mahasiswa kedokteran gigi terhadap HIV/AIDS. Metode:
Jenis penelitian ini adalah observasional dengan desain cross sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah 74 mahasiswa
profesi kedokteran gigi di RSGM UMY dipilih secara simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian
menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap responden tentang HIV/AIDS.
Hasil: hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 74 mahasiswa profesi, 12 (16,21%) memiliki pengetahuan yang
baik, 46 (62,16%) memiliki pengetahuan sedang, dan 16 (21,62%) memiliki pengetahuan yang buruk. Sebesar
12 (16,21%) akan merawat pasien HIV AIDS tanpa cemas, 44 (59,45%) akan merawat dengan cemas, dan 18
(24,32%) akan merujuk pasien HIV AIDS. Kesimpulan: Sebagian besar responden berpengetahuan sedang
tentang HIV/AIDS dan akan merawat pasien HIV/AIDS dengan cemas.
